Thanks for downloading the app and welcome to Gravl!
Let’s get you familiar with the app, shall we? 😉
Once you open Gravl, you’ll land on the Home page. At the bottom, you’ll notice three additional tabs. Let’s explore what each of them contains.
HOME
GYM PROFILE
In the top-left corner, you’ll see the gym you created during the onboarding process. Tap it to open your Gym Profiles where you can:
Add new profiles.
Edit existing ones (equipment, name, etc). To edit, tap the three dots next to a Profile and select Edit.
Be sure to check this before your first workout - select available equipment, machines, dumbbell weights, increments, etc. This is essential for the app to create workouts based on what you have access to.
FITNESS PLAN
Tap the icon in the top-right corner to view your Fitness Plan. We recommend reviewing it before your first workout to:
Make sure you’ve selected your desired routine.
Check that settings like fitness goal, number of days, and workout duration match your preferences.
NEXT WORKOUT
This card displays your next scheduled session and gives you the following options:
Regenerate: Recreate the workout with the same muscle groups.
Skip: Move to the next scheduled workout.
Quick Duration Filter: Adjust the workout length just for this session (without changing your overall settings).
Share: Send the workout to friends.
Once you open the Next workout, you can:
Reorder exercises with drag & drop
Open the exercise menu (three dots on the right) to:
Replace an exercise
Replace and don’t recommend
Change reps progression, and more.
For barbell exercises, we’ve added a Plate Calculator to handle the math for you.
Tap it to see a detailed breakdown of plates and the barbell.
The initial weight recommendations are based on the data you provided during onboarding. If anything feels too light or too heavy, feel free to adjust - the app will learn and adapt as you log more workouts.
UPCOMING WORKOUTS
You can swipe left and right to view:
The remaining workouts of the week based on your weekly goal.
The number of sessions you've already completed this week.
Upcoming workouts refresh every Monday and show your sessions for the current week.
WORKOUT RECOVERY
Here, you’ll see the recovery status of each muscle group of the workout. If any muscles scheduled for your upcoming workout are still fatigued, the app will suggest taking a rest.
FEELING LIKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
Custom: Create one-off strength workout that won’t affect your regular plan.
Cardio: Create one-off cardio workout that won’t affect your regular plan.
Manual: Build a workout entirely from scratch
STRENGTH SCORE
After completing your third workout, you’ll unlock your Strength Score - a measure of your progress and relative strength. It’s based on:
Your 1RM
Performed exercises that count towards the score
Gender
Age
Body weight
WEEKLY SUMMARY
Get a quick snapshot of your weekly progress:
See which muscle groups improved or declined.
Identify which exercises are driving those changes.
See the impact of body weight fluctuations.
TRENDS
Dive deeper into your progress with detailed graphs and stats - this section gets more useful the more workouts you log!
FEED
Check out your workout history or filter it by Workouts, Score Updates, and Badges.
If you've added friends on GRAVL, you’ll see their activity here too. Tap your profile picture to switch between just your data or your friends' as well.
SEARCH
Your exercise library! Search by category, muscle group, or name. You can also add custom exercises by tapping the + icon (top right) corner.
PROFILE
The profile tab contains:
Social & Support: View friends, access Customer support, and explore the Help section (inside the Customer support card).
Personal Stats: Track streaks, log body measurements, view the workout heatmap, and see earned badges.
We highly recommend exploring the Help section — it’s packed with detailed articles that explain everything about the app.
